| The South Dakota Department of Transportation provides the Winter Road
Condition Reports. These reports are produced three times a day seven days
a week during the period beginning early November through late March.
After late March the Department will provide intermittent reports only
when a major storm causes poor road conditions over a major part of the
state. |
| The South Dakota Early Morning Road Report is typically published around
7:00 AM CST for the Northeast, Southeast and Central part of the state.
The South Dakota Morning Report is published around 8:00 AM CST for all
parts of the state. These reports are based on observed conditions
reported by maintenance personnel between 5:30 AM and 7:15 AM CST. They
will be updated around 12 noon CST. |
| The South Dakota Noon Road Report is typically published around 12:00
noon CST. It is based on observed conditions reported by maintenance
personnel between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM CST. It will be updated at 5 PM
CST. |
| The South Dakota Evening Road Report is typically published around 5:00
PM CST. It is based on observed conditions reported by maintenance
personnel between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM CST. |
| Updated reports are generally not published unless conditions
warrant. Warranting conditions for updated reports include but are
not limited to road closures and no travel advisories. For the most
