Traveler Information / Temporary Route Restrictions

The following temporary restrictions are based on the information available at the time of preparation.  They are provided solely as a public service.
Actual conditions may vary from those reported.

Flooding Update on State Highways

SD 10 - West of Houghton - Closed Until Further Notice


SD 10 - from Britton west to Jct SD 37 - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately October 1, 2010.

US14/US83/SD34 Missouri River Bridge at MRM 228.35 between Pierre and Fort Pierre - No Overweight Loads - until further notice. 
The overweight detour route will be SD 1806, SD 204 and SD 1804 across the Oahe Dam.

US 14 - MRM 357.0 to MRM 361.0 - between Cavour and Iroquois - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
October 30, 2010.

US 16 - MRM 61.6 to MRM 67.2 - Spring Creek to Rapid City - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately October 1, 2010.

US 16A - MRM 22.91 - Bridge Structure in Custer - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately September 30, 2010.

US 18 - MRM 43.2 to MRM 44.5 - bewtween Maverick Jct and Hot Springs - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - 80'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in
effect until approximately November 1, 2010.

US 18/US 385 - MRM 44.86 to MRM 45.35 - South of Maverick Junction - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until
approximately July 31, 2010.

US 18 - MRM 87.0 to MRM 103.5 - Pine Ridge to Oglala - No Overweight Loads - The restriction will be in effect until approximately December 1, 2010.

US 18 - MRM 355.89 to MRM 373.92 - US 281 to SD 37 - Bridge Structures - 14'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
July 17, 2010.

US 18 - MRM 387.7 to MRM 390.4 - from SD 25 to Olivet - Closed to Traffic - The restriction will be in effect until approximately October 29, 2010. Detour
Route provided.

SD 20 - MRM 399.0 to MRM 400.00 - in Watertown - 11'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately September 10, 2010.

I-29Loop - MRM 8.00 to MRM 8.30 - Through the City of Elk Point - Closed to Traffic - Detour on city streets - No Thru Trucks - The restriction
will be in effect until approximately August 31, 2010.

I-29 - MRM 17.4 to MRM 27.0 - Head to Head Traffic in the Southbound Lanes - 14'- 0" Width Restriction - 110'- 0" Length Restriction - The restriction
will be in effect until approximately December 5, 2010.

I-29 - MRM 105.8 to MRM 107.0 - Northbound and Southbound Lanes- Bridge Structures - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until
approximately August 27, 2010.

I-29 - MRM 110.1 to MRM 123.0 - Head to Head Traffic in the Northbound Lanes - 11'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on June 7, 2010 and
be in effect until approximately October 29, 2010.

I-29 - from Exit 177 to north of Exit 193 - Head to Head Traffic in the Northbound Lanes - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on
May 25, 2010 and be in effect until approximately November 5, 2010.

I-29 - from MRM 196.0 to MRM 208.0 - Northbound and Southbound Lanes - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
October 29, 2010.

I-29 - MRM 224.0 to MRM 242.0 - Northbound and Southbound Lanes - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
September 22, 2010.

SD 34 - from 1 mile west of SD 13 to Minnestota Border - Closed to Traffic - The restriction will be in effect until approximately November 15, 2010. Detour
route in place.

SD 44 - MRM 268.0 to MRM 273.0 - from SD 47 west through Dixon - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on August 2, 2010 and be in effect
until approximately November 1, 2010.

SD 46 - MRM 298.0 to MRM 299.0 - Bridge Structure at Charles Mix/Bon Homme County Line - 11'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until
approximately October 1, 2010.

SD 47 - at MRM 89.70 - No Overweight Loads until further notice - This bridge is between Big Bend Dam and Fort Thompson over 
Soldier Creek.

SD 47 - MRM 88.1 to MRM 89.1 - Big Bend Dam - 10'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect from June 21, 2010 to June 23, 2010.

SD 50 - MRM 416.5 to MRM 416.9 - Bridge Structure over I-29 - 11'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
July 31, 2010.

SD 63 - MRM 144.60 - Cheyenne River Bridge - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately August 13, 2010.

SD 71 - MRM 19.68 - Bridge Structure - 15 miles south of Hot Springs - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on September 16, 2010 and be in
effect until approximately September 30, 2010.

US 85 - Through the City of Belle Fourche - 11'- 0" Width Restriction - 90'- 0" Length Restriction - No Overweight Loads - The restriction will
begin on February 23, 2010 and be in effect until approximately December 3, 2010.

I-90 - MRM 28.0 to MRM 31.0 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
October 2, 1010.

I-90 - MRM 59.0 to MRM 60.7 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
September 17, 1010.

I-90 - MRM 68.0 to MRM 90.4 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - at Bridge Structures - 14'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on 
May 17, 2010 and be in effect until approximately August 31, 2010.

I-90 - MRM 120.0 to MRM 126.0 - Westbound Lanes - Bridge Structures - 18'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on August 16, 2010 and be in 
effect until approximately September 8, 2010.

I-90 - MRM 131.0 to MRM 191.0 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - Bridge Structures - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect
until approximately November 19, 2010. Overwidth Detour provided on SD 248.

I-90 - MRM 257.0 to MRM 260.0 - Head to Head traffic in the Westbound Lanes - 16'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on September 7,2010
and will be in effect until approximately October 30, 2010.

I-90 Loop - Old Chamberlain Bridge over Missouri River - No Overweight Loads.

I-90 Loop - Old Chamberlain Bridge over Missouri River - Between Chamberlain and Oacoma - Closed to Through Traffic - The restriction will
be in effect until approximately December 1, 2010.

I-90P - Structure over I-90 - Exit 296 - White Lake - 10- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on March 29, 2010 and be in effect
until approximately October 29, 2010.

I-90 - MRM 309 to MRM 320 - Plankinton to Mt. Vernon - Head to Head traffic in the Westbound Lanes - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be
in effect until approximately October 29, 2010.

I-90 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - MRM 334.54 - James River Bridge Structures - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on August 11, 2010
and be in effect until approximately September 17, 2010.

I-90 - MRM 362.0 to MRM 390.0 - Eastbound and Westbound Lanes - west of Exit 364 to Exit 390 - 12'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect
until approximately September 15, 2010.

I-190 - at MRM 0.43 - over Silver Street in Rapid city - No Overweight Loads - The restriction will be in effect until further notice.

US 212 - MRM 207.7 - Missouri River Bridge west of Gettsyburg - 10'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will be in effect until approximately
November 1, 2010.

SD 1806 - Grand River Bridge - MRM 364.61 - 9'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on April 6, 2010 and be in effect until
approximately July 3, 2010.

SD 1806 - Railroad Bridge - MRM 367.50 - 9'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on April 6, 2010 and be in effect until
approximately July 3, 2010.

SD 1806 - Oak Creek Bridge - MRM 370.30 - 9'- 0" Width Restriction - The restriction will begin on April 6, 2010 and be in effect until
approximately July 3, 2010.
