Section B Grading standard notes have been updated.
The following is a list of the Section B Grading Standard Note changes:


1. The order of the plan notes were modified throughout Section B.

2. On Sheet B5, TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS note, in the paragraph for traffic diversions with drainage areas of 1000 Acres or more, The sentence "The structure(s) shall be placed with the flowline elevation at the low channel bed elevation." to "The structure(s) shall be placed at the flowline elevation and location as stated in the "Table of Temporary Drainage Structures in Traffic Diversions". In the Table of Temporary Drainage Structures in Traffic Diversions, a column was added for the flowline elevation along with a note regarding the flowline elevation location.

3. On Sheet B9, the following paragraph was inserted after the example haul calculations of the HAUL note and informational text was also provided for when to use the following paragraph:

Compensation for "Extra Haul" will not be made for haul distances less than 5 stations. When payment for "Extra Haul" is authorized, the distance used for "Extra Haul" calculations shall be that in excess of 5 stations.

4. On Sheet B14, the following note was added to the TABLE OF DROP INLET REMOVAL:

All costs for removal of the frame and grate assembly shall be incidental to the contract unit price per each for "Remove Drop Inlet".

5. On Sheet B15, a new note with table for DRAIN TILE was added.

6. On Sheet x, the CORRUGATED METAL PIPE note was modified to comply with Chapter 11 of the Road Design Manual.

7. On sheet B16, the last sentence of the second paragraph of the CONCRETE PIPE CONNECTIONS note was modified from "The concrete collar shall be reinforced with wire mesh." to "The concrete collar shall be reinforced with 6x6 W2.9 x W2.9 wire mesh.". The collar width changed from "18 inches" to "2 feet" to comply with the DENR requirements as stated in the new STORM SEWER note.

8. On Sheet B16, a new note was added for CONCRETE D-LOAD PIPE.

9. On Sheet B16, the STORM SEWER PIPE JOINTS note was revised to comply with DENR requirements in regards to placement of storm sewer adjacent to water mains. The title of the note changed from "STORM SEWER PIPE JOINTS" to "STORM SEWER".

10. On Sheet B19, The Table of x" PCC FILLET SECTION AND CURB RAMP TYPE was modified by removing the column for the Ramp Type. The title of the table changed from "TABLE OF X" PCC FILLET SECTION AND CURB RAMP TYPE" to "TABLE OF X" PCC FILLET SECTION".

11. On Sheet B20, The Table of PRECAST DETECTABLE WARNING PANELS was removed. A new note for DETECTABLE WARNINGS was added along with two tables of products. New tables, TABLE OF TYPE x DETECTABLE WARNINGS and TABLE of DETECTABLE WARNINGS were added along with informational pink text. Detectable Warnings are now a pay item and they will be paid for by the square foot as "Type 1 Detectable Warnings" or "Type 2 Detectable Warnings". If Type 1 detectable warnings are used on a project, then standard plate 651.25 needs to be included with the plans. Provide the necessary standard plates(651 series) in the plans when there are detectable warnings, curb ramps, sidewalk adjacent to railroad crossings, or curb cuts for future curb ramps.

12. On Sheet B21, the SIDEWALK DRAINS note and table were modified to comply with the changes to standard plate 651.50. The sidewalk drain is a payment item now. Previously the cost of the sidewalk drains was incidental to the sidewalk bid item.
