Update in Road Design Manual Chapter 16 - Miscellaneous
References to Metric units have been removed.
Page 16-4 - Under Interstate Projects information on the type of fence to use was added and minor grammatical edits to the rest of the page were made.
Page 16-5 - Under Temporary Fence, the section was rewritten.
Chain Link Fence removed reference to standard plate.
Minor grammatical edits to the rest of the page were made.
Page 16-6 - Under Chain Link Fence, fabric heights were added.
Page 16-7 - Special Right-of-Way Fence (Buffalo Fence) was added.
Page 16-8 - Under Cattle Guards information on placement and fencing was added.
Page 16-10 - Under Size/Length Recommendations information for lengths of 4 ft x 6 ft cattle passes for resurfacing projects.
Page 16-11 - Minor grammatical edits to this page.
Pages 16-12 - Under ADA Guidelines reference materials replaced Building a True Community, Final Report for Public Rights-of-Way Access Advisory Committee with Draft Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines(PROWAG).
Construction/Reconstruction Guidelines was rewritten.
Under Scope and Survey Needs minor grammatical edits were made.
Page 16-13 - ROW and Utility Impacts ROW for signal and light poles was rewritten.
Under Roadway Safety Improvements (RSI) Guidelines deleted the first sentence.
Under Resurfacing Guidelines replaced references to Building a True Community with PROWAG, removed reference to ADAAG sections, and minor grammatical edits.
Page 16-14 - Under Lighting, Signal, and Signing Guidelines changed references that are to be used and minor grammatical edits.
Design Exceptions was changed to Documentation and the section was rewritten with guidance to the designer on documentation.
Under Sidewalks the second and forth paragraphs were rewritten and minor grammatical edits on the first and third paragraphs.
Page 16-15 - The subheading "General" was removed and the section was rewritten.
Minimum Clear Width was rewritten.
Page 16-16 - The sections on Grade and Surfaces were rewritten.
Page 16-17 - Under Thickness the sentence referring to the thickness either side of entrance was removed.
Page 16-18 - Figure 16-2 was updated.
Page 16-20 to 16-22 - Accessibility to Buildings new section.
Page 16-23 - Ramps new section.
Page 16-24 - The subheading "General" was removed and the section was rewritten.
Under Placement the second bullet the last sentence was deleted.
Under Width the third bullet was removed.
Page 16-25 - Grade was changed to Running Slope and was updated.
Curb Ramps Lengths new section.
Landing section was updated.
Page 16-26 - Transition new section.
Page 16-27 - Counter Slop was updated.
Edge Conditions was updated.
Surfaces section was rewritten.
Page 16-28 to Page 16-34 - Vertical Grade Breaks and Lips, Curb Ramp Types, Method for Selecting Curb Ramp Type, Detectable Warnings, and Pedestrian Push Buttons at Curb Ramps are new sections.
Page 16-35 - Under Crosswalks The subheading "General" was removed and some requirements added.
Under Medians and Pedestrian Refuge Islands new requirements were added.
Page 16-36 - Stop Bar and Crosswalk Location new section.
Page 16-37 - Under Parking Along Highways a new paragraph with AASHTO's recommendations was added.
Under On-Street Parking (Accessibility) accessibility requirements table was added.
Page 16-38 - Under On-Street Parking (Accessibility) new requirements were added.
Passenger Loading Zones was updated.
Page 16-39 - Removed fifth sentence was removed, updated bullets, and removed paragraph on references.
Page 16-40 - Minor clean up on figure.
Page 16-41 - Removed the titles Usage, Standards and Development. First paragraph was rewritten. Second paragraph removed the highlighted text.
Under Design Considerations minor grammatical edits.
Page 16-42 - Removed the titles Usage, Standards, Traffic Diversion Layout, Traffic Diversion Cross Sectional Elements, and Traffic Diversion Notes and Miscellaneous.
Third paragraph sizing the temporary drainage structure was updated.
Sixth paragraph removed reference to Chapter 7.
Page 16-43 - Under Terms changed Multi-Purpose Path to Shared Use Path.
Removed Title Development and minor updates to paragraph and bullet that follow.
Page 16-44 - Updated Figure 16-26.
Added bullet for Shared Use Paths.
Updated Figure 16-27.
Added another reference for Recreation Paths.
Page 16-45 - Under Noise and Sight Reduction Design added a paragraph containing the Offices to work with for design.
Page 16-46 - New Figure and references were added.
Page 16-47 - The bullet for Segmental Block types was updated.
Last paragraph next to last sentence was added on estimating ROW.
Page 16-48 - Barriers on Top of Retaining Walls is a new section.
