The South Dakota Department of Transportation Standard Plates are available only inEnglish units. Drawings are not always drawn to scale; use the dimensions on the drawings for correct measurements. Every effort has been made to assure their correctness. However, if there are any discrepancies between these standard plates and other contract documents, section 5.4 Coordination of Plans, Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, and Special Provisions of the 2004 Standard Specifications for Roadsand Bridges governs.

Viewing Standard Plates
The Standard Plates are updated in January, April, July and October on the first working day of the month. The dates of these updated plates are in red. A brief description of what changes were made and when the last update was done can be found on the updates page. If there is not a link for a Standard Plate, it is not available at this time.
Standard Plates in Plans
The Standard Plates can be downloaded and included in the plans. Instructions on how to create plans sheets with Standard Plates is available in the Office of Road Design's CADD Procedures Manual under "Supplemental Information - Electronic Plans (How to create a PDF)", page 4.
