Research Objectives:
1  Develop presentations on videotape and other media that effectively communicate the effect illegally overweight vehicles have on public roads and that urge responsible trucking.

Research Tasks:
1  With assistance of the Department of Transportation, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and the South Dakota Trucking Association, develop and submit a videotape concept and script for approval by the project’s technical panel.
2  Produce a draft videotape and submit it for final review and approval by the technical panel.
3  Produce a final videotape and provide fifty copies for distribution.
4  Based on the message communicated by the videotape, produce a thirty-second public service announcement for commercial radio..
5  Produce a PowerPoint presentation that motor carrier enforcement officers can use in presentations to local public and industry groups.
