Finance - The Finance office performs fiscal activities including accounts payable, billing and federal draw downs, financial reporting, contract administration, and budget preparation.

Office of Local Transportation Programs

Aeronautics - The Aeronautics office serves the South Dakota aviation community in a variety of ways. In addition to overall monitoring of the status and capacity of our aviation system, we provide specific services to different members of our aeronautic community.

Local Government Assistance - The Office of Local Government Assistance provides financial and technical assistance to county and city governments for the construction and reconstruction of their roads, streets, and bridges. They provide several funding programs to assist local governments.

Public Transit - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) acts as a facilitator of public and specialized transportation services. SDDOT does not directly provide the services but contracts for services to be delivered within South Dakota through the awards of grants to transit providers.

RailRoads - The responsibilities of the Office of Railroads include managing all real and personal property acquired by the state for railroad purposes. This includes leasing of property, utility installation, track rehabilitation, industrial track expansion and construction. The Office also prepares annually a planning document which outlines rail improvements that the state intends to complete for each year.
