SDDOT / Right-of-Way / Utilities
The Office of Utilities is responsible for the following:
- Notification of utility companies and cities of impending highway construction projects.
- Authorizing utility preliminary engineering and approving use of consultant engineers for utility engineering.
- Reviewing and approving cost estimates and relocation plans, negotiating and preparing utility relocation agreements, approving contracted work and coordinating utility relocations and /or installations on highway construction projects.
- Conduct utility coordination meetings.
Utility Forms:
- Utility Consultant Approval Form (Adobe PDF)
This form is to be completed by the Utility's Consultant Engineer for approval to perform Utility Engineering on a Highway Project.
- Utility Permit (Adobe PDF)
This is to be completed by a Utility Company for approval to Occupy Highway Right-of-Way.
- Utility Project Inquiry Data Sheet (Adobe PDF)
This is to be completed by all utility Companies Officially Notified of a Highway Grading Project.
