Rodney was born in Mitchell, SD on 11-4-38. He graduated from Letcher High School, Letcher, SD in 1956. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree from South Dakota State University in 1960. Rodney is a banker, Chairman and CEO of Dacotah Banks, Inc., Aberdeen, SD. He and his wife, Glenna, have two grown sons, Robert and Daniel.

Mike Trucano is president of Black Hills Novelty Co., a purveyor of coin operated vending machines. Trucano earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1978 from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA in 1979 from Southern Methodist University. He lives in Deadwood with his wife, Cynthia, and their two children, Matthew and Molly. Trucano is involved in many local and regional charitable and service organizations.
