What is Being Built
West Bound Traffic will travel in the two new WB lanes through 2009-2010 winter.

East Bound traffic will travel in the two old East bound lanes through the 2009-2010 winter.

The old East Bound s-curves have been modified for the winter to improve the roadway for winter driving conditions.

Sturgis Road/SD79/Piedmont Service Road - Will be completed from Kimberly Drive to Anderson Road and then transition back to the old service road.

The frontage road in front of the Blackhawk Post Office dead ends so drivers need to use the Hwy 79 Service Road.

In this aerial photograph of the reconstruction area, north is to the left of the page and the purple lines represent the new alignments. Most significantly, the S-Curves on Interstate 90 are being straightened and existing Exit 51 is being moved to a new location and will be renamed Exit 52. Also, the re-alignment of SD79 can be seen going through the existing S-Curves of Interstate 90 - View Adobe PDF Map
