Mill Road Bridge to close May 15

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Mill Road Bridge over Interstate 90 is scheduled to close permanently May 15 as crews work on the Exit 52 reconstruction project.

Residents and businesses on Mill Road east of I-90 should use Erickson Ranch Road or North Deadwood Avenue to access I-90 at Exits 46 and 55, respectively. Residents and businesses west of I-90 are encouraged to use Sturgis Road to access Interstate 90 at Exit 51.

The Mill Road Bridge was originally scheduled to remain open until the new Exit 52 overpass begins service in late October. The closure is occurring earlier than anticipated due to construction scheduling and subsurface conflicts.
