The Materials & Surfacing Office has 4 divisions: Certification & Accreditation, Geotechnical, Materials, & Surfacing Plans. Responsibilities include surfacing selection, bituminous designs, and asphalt mix design, preliminary engineering with respect to subsurface geotechnical conditions and surficial geology as applied to proposed design of transportation projects, Construction Project Materials Certification, Materials Testing & Inspection Certification program administration, and the Approved Products List, and design, coordination and preparation of plans for assigned surfacing and resurfacing highway construction projects. |
