Striping To Be Done on U.S. Highway 85 in Belle Fourche

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – A contractor for the South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin placing inlaid tape-striping material on U.S. Highway 85 in Belle Fourche on Monday, July 16.

The striping application, which includes grinding the road surface and placing the tape, will start at the south end of the Belle Fourche River Bridge on Highway 85 at mile marker 56.15 and proceed north to the junction of Highway 85 and Highway 212.

The project will now begin on Friday, July 13, with work being done only during daylight hours.

Placing the tape striping should take only a few days.

Traffic will be routed to the outside lanes, creating one lane on each side of Highway 85; motorists can expect minor delays.

Traffic Services Company, LLC, of Black Hawk is the prime contractor for the $169,000 project.
