Work to Begin on Highway 37 in Huron

 

HURON, S.D. – On Monday, April 8, reconstruction of South Dakota Highway 37 (Dakota Ave.) in Huron will begin, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

 

The contractor will begin sawing the existing concrete on Highway 37 (Dakota Avenue) from 15th Street North to just north of 27th Street on Monday, April 8.

 

Beginning the week of April 15, Midland Construction of Huron will begin the concrete removal and grading portion of the project.

 

A single lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction through the work area with an 11-foot width restriction.

 

Motorists can expect merging and suddenly slowing traffic and should be aware of construction equipment and workers.

 

The prime contractor on this $3 million project is Upper Plains Contracting, Inc. of Aberdeen, and the completion date is October 18.
