Work on I-90 and Cliff Avenue Interchange in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – On Monday morning, April 22, traffic through Sioux Falls on Interstate 90 will be switched head-to-head in the eastbound lanes for reconstruction of the westbound lanes of I-90 and Cliff Avenue interchange project, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

Cliff Avenue interchange ramp traffic will be maintained, but the width of the ramps will be narrower during the construction.

Motorists should expect delays through the construction area and stay alert for workers, equipment, lane closures, lane shifts and sudden slowing of traffic.

Starting Monday evening, April 22, at 7 p.m., the contractor will close Cliff Avenue at the interchange to remove the existing westbound structure.  The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.  The interchange ramps will remain open to traffic, but Cliff Avenue will be closed to thru traffic at the I-90 overpass bridge. Motorists will be required to find an alternate route.

The work is part of the $17. 4 million Interstate 90 and Cliff Avenue interchange project. The prime contractor is T&R Contracting, Inc. of Sioux Falls; the interim completion date is Nov. 8.

Complete road construction information is available at www.safetravelusa.com/sd or by dialing 511.
