Project To Begin On Highway 12 In Aberdeen

 

ABERDEEN, S.D. – On Tuesday, May 21, crews will begin emplacement of traffic control on Highway 12 on the east side of Aberdeen, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation. 

 

The project includes repair of the existing surface of Highway 12 from Lawson Street to east of Roosevelt Street, and replacement of the existing surface of Highway 12 from Melgaard Road east to the divided highway.

 

Traffic will be controlled with lane closures from Lawson Street to Roosevelt Street and reduced to one lane in each direction from Melgaard Road to the divided highway.

 

The project overall completion date is Nov. 8.

 

The prime contractor for the $8.6 million project is Upper Plains Contracting Inc. of Aberdeen.
