Work on U.S. Highway 12 Moves West at Milbank

 

MILBANK, S.D. – Work on Highway 12 in Grant County will move into Phase 3 beginning Monday, July 1, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

 

BX Civil & Construction will close the portion of Highway 12 from Madison Street to approximately one-half mile west of Milbank to do structure repair and rural grading work.

 

Phase 1 work will be completed on Sunday, June 30 and the Highway 12 and Highway 15 intersection reopened to traffic.  Work on Phase 2 is still proceeding.

 

A signed detour route is provided along the north side of Milbank for both local and truck traffic. 

 

Highway 12 is being reconstructed in phases from the Highway 15 junction west one-and-one-quarter miles. Work includes removal and replacement of surfacing, new curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer in the urban section and replacement of both structures on the west edge of Milbank.

 

The completion date on this $6.4 million project is Nov. 1.
