Signal Modification at Sturgis Road and Peaceful Pines Road

BLACK HAWK, S.D. – On Monday, March 17, 2014, crews will resume work on the traffic signal modification project at the intersection of Highway 231 (Sturgis Road) and Peaceful Pines Road in Black Hawk.

Work involves relocating two existing signal poles due to traffic signal changes.

The signals will be turned off and the intersection will temporarily be changed to a four-way stop with stop signs and lane closures during the work.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled in work zones and to watch for suddenly slowing and merging traffic, construction vehicles and workers near the driving lanes.

Work on this $38,000 project is scheduled to be complete by the end of March.

Muth Electric of Rapid City is the prime contractor.
