SPEARFISH, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says Interstate 90 will be closed for six nights, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting on Wednesday, July 19, between the off and on ramps at Exit 14 in Spearfish.

This is being done so the contractor can install girders on the west half of the new bridge over I-90 at the Exit 14 interchange.

Interstate traffic will be routed up the off-ramp and back down the on-ramp. Each night the contractor will clean off the interstate and re-open the interstate before 6 a.m. Work will begin over the westbound lanes.

Motorists are asked to slow down through the work zone, be on the lookout for flaggers, be prepared for suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, and construction workers and equipment entering, exiting and adjacent to the roadway.

Heavy Constructors, Inc., of Rapid City is the prime contractor on this $28 million project. The overall completion date for the project is June 1, 2018.
