RAPID CITY, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the Rapid City Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the city of Box Elder, will hold a public open house on Wednesday, Sept. 13, to inform area residents on the options being recommended as part of a roadway corridor study for I-90 from Exit 61 (Elk Vale Road) to Exit 67 (Liberty Boulevard / EAFB Main Gate).

This open house public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wed. Sept. 13, at the Comfort Suites in Rapid City (1333 North Elk Vale Road).

The purpose for the open house is to inform the public of the study findings, the improvement options being recommended, to record any concerns the public may have with those options and to gather other ideas to help determine the future look of the corridor. The potential improvement options include ideas for the possible reconfiguration and/or relocation of the Exit 63 (Box Elder / EAFB Commercial Gate) interchange. The study will address a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight and automobile.

For those who cannot attend the meeting or would like additional information on the study, information will be made available online a few days after the meeting at www.i90corridor61to67.com.

The open house will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the location indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 6:15 p.m. The open house will allow discussion with SDDOT, city, MPO and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until Sept. 27, 2017.
