SPEARFISH, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says two-way traffic is scheduled to be switched to the newly completed northbound lanes of 27th Street in Spearfish today (Sept. 29).

The new westbound on ramp will also be opened to traffic on Friday. These traffic switches will allow the contractor to complete the remaining portions of the southbound lanes on each end of the new bridge.

Motorists are asked to slow down through the work zone, be on the lookout for flaggers, suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, and construction workers and equipment entering, exiting and adjacent to the roadway.

Heavy Constructors, Inc., of Rapid City is the prime contractor on this $28 million project. The overall completion date for the project is June 1, 2018.
