Highway 34 Project Public Information Meeting in Madison

MADISON, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in cooperation with the city of Madison and D & G Concrete Construction, will hold an open house style public meeting for the Highway 34 project on Monday, March 18.

 

The $7.9 million project will reconstruct 1.2 miles of Highway 34 from the Washington Avenue/2nd Street NE intersection to the start of the divided highway on 10th Street SE.

 

Work is tentatively scheduled to begin March 25 and includes grading, storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, curb & gutter, sidewalk, roadway lighting and concrete surfacing.

 

The open house public meeting will be held at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse located at 1205 Washington Avenue N. in Madison from 6 to 7 pm. CDT.

 

The open house will be informal with a short presentation at 6 p.m. and staff available to discuss issues and answer your questions regarding the reconstruction project. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments.
