SUPPLEMENTAL SPECIFICATION FOR

ERRATA

July 28, 1999

MAKE THE INDICATED CORRECTIONS TO THE FOLLOWING SPECIFIED SECTIONS:

Sections 1.1 - page 1 - change the description of MUTCD to "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices".

Section 6.2 B - page 30 - change the sixth paragraph to read as follows:

"Topsoil replaced on Contractor optioned borrow sources will be paid for as provided in Section 120.5 F."

Section 6.2 B. 1- page 30 & 31 - change the first sentence in the ninth paragraph to read as follows:

"When a Department or County optioned source is used, the Contractor shall be required to comply with the restoration provision set forth in the option, mining license regulations and paragraphs 1 through 7 below, to the satisfaction of the Engineer."

Section 120.5 A - page 73 - change the second paragraph to read as follows:

"Undercutting as described in Section 120.3 A. 3., with corrections made for portions not accomplished and for portions not shown and ordered by the Engineer will be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic yard (cubic meter)."

Change the third paragraph to read as follows:

"Scarifying, shaping , and recompacting, as required under Section 120.3 A. 3. shall be incidental to the unit price bid for excavation. Separate payment will not be made."

Section 230.5 A. - page 80 - delete the first paragraph and substitute the following:

"Salvaged Topsoil: Topsoil salvaged from option borrow sources will be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic yard (cubic meter) for "Option Borrow Excavation". Topsoil salvaged from contractor furnished borrow sources will be incidental to the contract unit price per cubic yard (cubic meter) of "Contractor Furnished Borrow". All other topsoil will be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic yard (cubic meter) for "Unclassified Excavation." The amount of topsoil that has been added to the Unclassified Excavation quantity and/or Option Borrow Excavation quantity will be indicated on the plans. The payment will be full compensation for excavation (which includes necessary undercutting to provide space for topsoil placement) and stockpiling."

Delete the third paragraph entirely.

Section 230.5 B. - page 80 - delete the first paragraph and substitute the following:

"Placing Topsoil: The placement of stockpiled topsoil will be paid for at the contract price per cubic yard (cubic meter) for "Placing Topsoil".

Section 240 - page 81, Section 250 - page 82, Section 260 - page 83, - eliminate the first heading at the top of the page labeled "SALVAGING, STOCKPILING AND PLACING TOPSOIL"

Section 392.4 - page 164 - change the third sentence to read as follows:

"One bag of cement (94 Pounds) shall equal one cubic foot of PCC pavement jacking slurry (3½ bags of cement [42.64 kg per bag] shall equal 0.1 cubic meter of jacking slurry)."

Section 320.3.F - page 96 - change the word "ny" to "by" in the first sentence of the second paragraph from the bottom.

Section 410.3.I.5.e.2 - page 171 - change the second sentence to read:

"The appropriate 0.005 inch(0.125 mm) feeler gauge shall be supplied."

Section 412.3 A. 5.a.2 - page 187 - change the seventh sentence to read as follows: "maintain the maximum limit specified, the final coating thickness shall"

Section 430.2 B - page 201 - change the table for Granular Backfill Material for MSE Backfill as follows:

Section 460.3 O. 4 - page 230 - place the letter "a." in front of the first indented paragraph. Page 231 - place the letter "b." in front of the first paragraph on this page , the letter "c." in front of the second paragraph on this page, and the letter "d." in front of the third paragraph on this page.

Section 462.3 A.1.b. - page 235 - change the sentence to read as follows:

"The mixture shall contain at least 600 pounds (360 kg) of cement per cubic yard (cubic meter)."

Section 480.4 - page 254 - in the table under "Bar Designation (English)", change "Weight (kg/m)" to "Weight (lb/ft)".

Section 550.3 D. 1 - page 281 and Section 550.3 F. 2 - page 284 - change the last paragraph to read as follows: "After the bridge deck overlay has hardened, it shall be tested in accordance with 460.3 O. 4.d.".

Section 633. 3 D - page 324 - in the Metric table change the seventh sentence to read as follows:

"Length of Skip Lines 3200 mm + 75 mm "

Section 880.B.2- page 401 – change the word "vegetable" to "vegetation".

Section 881.1 - page 403 – change the word "vegetable" to "vegetation".

Section 882.2 -Table 1 - page 405 - in Table 1 under the subheading "Limestone Ledge Rock - Gravel Cushion", change the percent passing for sieve requirements for the No. 4 Sieve (4.75 mm) to "46-70" in lieu of "56-70". Add the word "max." under the heading REQUIREMENT for Liquid Limit.

Section 890.2 K Table 3- page 415 - in Table 3 under the subheading "Rapid Setting", "CRS-2P" for "Viscosity, Saybolt Furol at 122 degrees F (50 degrees C)" change the "Min" requirement to "100" in lieu of "50".

In Table 3 under the subheading "Rapid Setting", "CRS-2P" for "Viscosity, Saybolt Furol at 122 degrees F (50 degrees C)" change the value under "Max" requirement under to "400" in lieu of "450".

In Table 3 under the subheading "Rapid Setting", "CRS-2P" for the "Oil Distillate by volume of emulsion, %", move the value of 1³³ from the "Max" column to the "Min" column and leave the "Max" column blank.

In Table 3 under the subheading "Type", change the fourth sentence from the bottom to read as follows:

"Ductility, 39 degrees F (4 degrees C), 5 cm/min, cm"

Section 960.1. B Table 1- page 421 & 422 –Delete the Table and both pages and replace them with the following Tables:

 Section 985.1 E .1.a. page 460 - change the first sentence to read as follows: "Bolts: ASTM A307, A449, and A687 materials are approved for use by the Department."

Section 1010.1 D page 473 - change the sentence to read as follows: "Bar Reinforcement -Paving: Bar reinforcement for concrete pavement, except dowel bars and tie bars, shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M 31 Grade 60 (420)".
