This project will rehabilitate the Chamberlain / Oacoma Truss Structure that spans the Missouri River on the I-90 Business Loop at the end of King Street in Chamberlain.

Work will consist of removal of the existing bridge deck, removal of existing paint from the truss members, repairing or replacing rusted steel, repainting the truss, repair of concrete piers, and replacement of the bridge deck.

Interim completion date – December 1, 2010 (open bridge to traffic for winter of 2010/2011)

Overall completion date August 1, 2011

Bridge closed to all traffic until December 1, 2010. Detour will take travelers across the Missouri River on I-90.

Bridge will be closed again in the Spring of 2011 to complete the truss painting.

Boat Traffic will be allowed to cross below structure. Buoys will be used to warn boat traffic of construction.

• Construct abutment #12 (east end of bridge)
• Install steel girders from pier #10 to abutment #12 (east end of bridge)
• Begin placement wood forms and reinforcing steel for bridge deck from pier #10 to abutment #12 (east end of bridge)
• Lift truss from piers 8, 9, and 10 and remove and replace top 2 feet of concrete (central area of bridge)
